Lara Croft is most certainly my favorite heroine. She beats out even Sigourney Weaver in "Aliens" for bad-ass, take-no-prisoners attitude.

I first encountered Ms. Croft when a good friend bought the original Tomb Raider game for his PC while my son, boyfriend and self were visiting. It was so powerful... all four of us got involved in playing Lara... solving the puzzles and figuring out how to move her to avoid killing her beautiful form.

Later, we bought the first three Tomb Raider video games for our Playstation, which in my opinion, was the only reason for buying the thing at the time.

Now she is the star of a hugely successful series of comic books and movies starring Angelina Jolie (that have evolved a following of their own), she has her own line of collectibles and a rabid fan following that isn't exclusive to hard-up computer nerd-type young males. As I have heard or read so many times, "Men want to be with her and women want to BE her." Yeah, that sounds about right!
