:: BEAUTY WITH ATTITUDE PARTY ::
Fun was had by all, all that showed up anyway!
Saturday, July 26th, from 3 p.m. until after 6 p.m.,
Beauty With Attitude
and KCRE
Radio were set up at Crescent City Cinemas for the "Tomb
Raider: Cradle of Life" movie.
Kelly from KCRE got all set up and promptly began
giving out free Tomb Raider posters to anyone who asked. Folks were
signing up at her booth to win prizes like a DVD of the original
Tomb Raider movie, a soundtrack CD for the new TR movie, TR books,
decals, dinners, gift certificates and shirts.
Lori (me) from Beauty With Attitude was inside the
theatre lobby with a table loaded with action figures, comic books,
t-shirts and was taking sign ups for the Lara Croft look-alike contest.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to see familiar faces and meet
lots of new people and explain what Beauty With Attitude is all
about. I guess I'm just a people person! My oldest son Matt hung
out with me, as did two of our contest judges, Brian Campbell and
James Nason. When Kelly interviewed me during the live broadcast,
my youngest son (at home with Dad) heard me and got pretty excited.
Yeah, us rubes from the backwoods get excited about the silliest
things... PHOTOS
Our winners for the Lara Croft look-alike contest
are:
First Place: Rissa Hight
(25) of Brookings, Oregon. We knew the minute she walked in that
Rissa was Tomb Raider material! Rissa is an auto body painter by
profession, and her hobbies include volleyball and motorcycles.
She wrote that what she likes about Lara Croft is: "Her attitude,
beauty and her gymnastic ability." Rissa won a t-shirt, a huge
stack of comics from North Coast Role Playing, a Lara Croft: Tomb
Raider DVD movie, a Cradle of Life soundtrack CD and a few other
things (that I can't remember). We even gave here a single red rose!
Second Place: Kaylee Nading (16) of Brookings,
Oregon. Kaylee came in with her friend and her friend's mom. We
all talked her into entering! I hope she is glad she did. Kaylee
is a student, and her hobbies include shooting and fighting. What
Kaylee likes about Ms. Croft is: "She's hot, she kicks butt
and she's caring." Kaylee won a t-shirt, a stack of comics
and she got a single red rose.
Third Place: Stevie Williams (16) of Brookings,
Oregon. Stevie is Kaylee's friend and Kaylee and Stevie's mom talked
her into entering. Stevie is a dog bather, and her hobbies include
singing, acting and shooting. Stevie said about Lara Croft: "She
kicks butt, she's beautiful and she's a role model for all girls."
Stevie won a t-shirt, a stack of comics and a single red rose.
